Minimally Invasive Robotics recently said that the company, Professor Zhang Zhongtao’s team of Beijing Friendship Hospital and related units independently developed Toumai single-arm laparoscopic surgical robot has completed single-arm robotic single-port laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is the first human clinical trial surgery completed by Toumai with one arm.
According to reports, the single arm of Toumai is jointly developed by the company and Beijing Friendship Hospital and related units, with a unique single-arm structure with completely independent intellectual property rights, flexible movement and convenient setting. Its serpentine design device achieves seven degrees of freedom in a small space, with a sophisticated design and easy handling. Compared with traditional multi-hole surgery, Toumai has a high clinical value such as small wound, light pain and postoperative aesthetics.
